Fall decorating time

Image
Summer is coming to a close for us....usually after the grandkids return back to school and we take one last camping trip to Wallawa Lake campground we begin our Fall prep and closing down of summer......so today I will begin with our front patio......all my patriotic and summer decor is coming down.......now my decision is do I just dress up the patio in the front and back or do I dress them but also make them cozy....so we can sitll go out and enjoy the rain and the beginning of the change of colors.......leaning a lot toward the idea of cozy...the pic below is not my patio but and idea of some of the things I want to use....will take pics after I finally decide my direction....have fun decorating for Fall...make your area how you want to relax in it...

Been out working on our 67 mini Bell .... getting it ready for our first camping trip in April with our daughter and her family.  We won't be going far, but always want it as close to ready as possible so that if we have any issues, we are close to stores to get it fixed.  Every year I choose a different theme for the decor in the inside of "Maizy Belle" and this year I chose the garden theme.  I want it to be soft, cozy, peaceful and relaxing.  Most of the items I have chosen to redo her in are either ones I have had for years or purchased very cheaply.  The bedspread is from a thrift store years ago and is a white chenille.  Love it so much but on the fair side never put the tassels where they can hit you in the face at night or all night you will feel like something is crawling on you.   The curtains are from a 1960's sheet that I got in the original package a few years ago.  So I washed it up and lined it with white muslin and made my curtains.  I have had the 1

Grandkids and I went shipping today to the thrift stores, we were just out killing time and I also have been on the look out for something that I could make over.  We go camping quite a bit and we are always a long ways away from the campsites trash cans.  So I wanted to get something vintage that I could work over and make my own.  So grandson took the extra metal strip to make the blades move off and then we removed the blades inside the spreader...now we will place a metal strip over the axles and make it safe for little fingers to reach the garbage sack. The color of our 1967 vintage Bell camper is sunburst yellow by rustoleum.  I love, love, love the color.  So I after washing the spreader and giving it a good scrub.  I am now painting with a brush.  This will take at least 3 coats of paint. So finished painting used rustoleum sunburst yellow and silver...touch upped with rustoleum black. Added a plastic bin that can be taken out and washed lined with garbage bag.  As the
