Working on 1967 Vintage "Maizy Belle" 10 foot camper

Image
Been out working on our 67 mini Bell .... getting it ready for our first camping trip in April with our daughter and her family.  We won't be going far, but always want it as close to ready as possible so that if we have any issues, we are close to stores to get it fixed.  Every year I choose a different theme for the decor in the inside of "Maizy Belle" and this year I chose the garden theme.  I want it to be soft, cozy, peaceful and relaxing.  Most of the items I have chosen to redo her in are either ones I have had for years or purchased very cheaply.  The bedspread is from a thrift store years ago and is a white chenille.  Love it so much but on the fair side never put the tassels where they can hit you in the face at night or all night you will feel like something is crawling on you.   The curtains are from a 1960's sheet that I got in the original package a few years ago.  So I washed it up and lined it with white muslin and made...

Family Camping and fishing trip

Was so fun getting 17 people together for a camping fishing trip.  We all reserved through ReserveAmerica and got 5 sites.  Everyone brought their campers and tents and we all had the best time.  This was our site our "Maizy Bell"...she is a 1967 Bell camper 13 feet long including the hitch.  My brother Chet and his camper and pickup all ready for the weekend.  Daughter and son in law with their new tent camper.  First time camping in it.  Camp breakfast in the cast iron dutch ovens....always a favorite for our family.  Always takes at least two dutch ovens to make enough.  Setting around the campfire and watching this beautiful sunset was just the best for the day.

Vintage lantern made electric

Won't be long and hubby will be going to work in the hay fields again....which he can't wait for....so we are just finishing a few more projects....gotta keep the man working....anyway I finally found what I wanted to do with a very very old lantern...it has been hanging on the patio for about 10 years....oldest son Jason disconnected it last time he was home because he said it was dangerous....someone had made it electric years and years ago...so old cracked wiring.....I just thought it was a good place for it until I decided what I wanted to do with it...several electricians tried to talk me out of it....but no not me ...when I like something I like it....so today hubby took it down and I will clean it up and rewire it with a smaller bulb and it will have a new home in Maizy Bell
