Green Funky Fun Slipper Socks

Image
Been working on some funky socks.  I hand crochet them and they are thick and warm.  Good way to use up small pieces of yarn and still make a few items.  I try to crochet every time I set down to relax or watch TV.  It keeps my hands busy but also I get a lot of things done.  Hubby always gives me a bad time that I can't just sit and do nothing.  But crocheting relaxes me.  The little flowers are on both socks just on the outside of each sock.  I love this pattern for how the toes and heels are made.

Funky Fun Slipper Socks Hand Crocheted

Image
Been working on making a few pairs of funky fun slipper socks.  The problem with these is you are changing colors almost every row.  So this leaves a lot of ends to weave in and hide.  This pair is for a women's size 7-8.  As with all crocheting these will stretch but as soon as you wash them they will retain their original size.  These come with a tie at the top to help hold them up.  A pretty little flower to add some bling. Nice and warm for a cold winters evening...on sell in our etsy shop at https://etsy.com/shop/rustycupboard

Our Patriotic Tote/Bag/Purse Line is now out....Hand Crocheted

We have been working on our Patriotic Tote/Bag/Purse line.  This is now in our ETSY shop and ready to be purchased.  Totally handmade with double crocheting, machine wash and lay flat to dry.  Measures 5 inches x 13 inches on the bottom and is 13 inches high.  Real nice item to take to the beach, fireworks, camping or etc.  Love the bright red, white and blue colors.  The items are just to show how it looks with things in it. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy our site...

Finished my Criss-Cross Valentine Afghan/throw/blanket

Image
Decided to make a afghan/throw/blanket for Valentines Day.  I chose the criss cross stitch and was off....for Valentines I chose the white, rose petal, and shocking pink rose.  This was a fairly easy one for me and I enjoyed just watching TV and working it up.  Funny, when I was done I told hubby everyone of these stitches I put into this.  It measures about 50"x60" and as everyone knows crocheting stretches. We always recommend washing on cold and laying flat to dry.  We have found that the dryer causes the yarn to get fuzzies...so laying flat to air dry the yarn stays the same.  Will be pretty in any room.  Now, on sell in our Etsy shop...at www.etsy.com/shop/rustycupboard....

Snowflake Afghan Throw

Image
Been working on it for about 4 hours a day.  It is finally turning out.  Measures 40 inches x 50 inches.  But everyone knows that crocheting stretches, so as you use it, it will stretch out larger.  We always recommend washing your crocheted items but NEVER EVER drying them.  We always lay them flat and let them air dry. This is on sell in our ETSY shop....at https://www.etsy.com/shop/rustycupboard

Snowflake Afghan Throw

Image
I started this snowflake afghan throw a few weeks before Christmas when we had just finished working on about 6 Peppermint Pinwheel afghan throws for sell for the shop.  I thought it was beautiful with the blue and white together.  Then the family started showing up and Christmas was in full swing.  The afghan disappeared and as the old saying goes "out of sight out of mind" well it was.  Then we were working on the basement yesterday and found the Tupperware with the pieces all in it waiting to be finished.  It had gotten stuck in the cupboard with the grand kids board games.  I worked on it for a few hours last night and will try to get it finished today. It is 29 degrees here so not much can be done outside.  A perfect day for homemade stew and crocheting.  This will be finished and put into our shop...check it out on https://www.etsy.com/shop/rustycupboard.....or www.pinterest.com/rustycupboard/.........or www.twitter.com/RUSTYCUPBOARD

Our handmade soaps

Decided to look up my blog and do a little work on it.  I has been a while.  Seems like we get so busy with all the other sites trying to keep everything going that I sometimes neglect one.  Our shop has been doing so well, we have picked up a few more lines of items.  we are now selling  handmade vegan friendly soap.  Made by the lye cold process using essential oils...they are so yummy This is our Minty Eucalyptus soap...we have it for sell in our SHOP........https://www.etsy.com/shop/rustycupboard.....we have been enjoying our little shop now for several years.  Now we have approximately 30 different flavors and they are so nice for gifts, bathroom and some just place them in their bedrooms on dressers.... The weather here is pretty cold...so we use January and February to get a lot of our handmade items completed and in the SHOP.  Daughter has been crocheting the Peppermint Pinwheel afghan and we have sold several of those.  She is now working on the techniques of knitting
