Enjoying the fun of summer

Enjoying the fun of summer means a lot of different things to different people. My husband and I have been working a lot the last few months. So we finally had a weekend together so we loaded up the truck with camping supplies and was off to Oregon to the Wallawa state park.

We go there every year on Labor Day but this was just a spontaneous weekend trip. It's hard to get a camping spot without reserving months in advance but I thought I would try and low and behold we got a spot for one night.

So we drove for 1 1/2 hours down a grade they call the rattlesnake grade which is one windy steep cliffy grade. Finally arriving and the most beautiful lake and campsites. Took us about 2 hours to set up camp, eat lunch and then we were exhausted. So we set around the campfire, just relaxing and watching all the other campers and their families.

We slept in a tent that we had just purchased and realized that it was 9x7 feet. Crazy we could hardly fit our air mattress in. We decided that we either need a larger tent or less stuff. About 10 o'clock that night it was getting really cold so we decided to go to bed. We had sleeping bags, blankets, more sleeping bags and more blankets. Sometime during the night hubby was on top the blankets and I was sweating. So I guess we slept well.

The next day we just relaxed in the sun and had some real nice rest. Then loaded everything back up and came home.

After about 3 hours, we were showed, pickup cleaned, supplies put away, laundry done and we were exhausted but happy..nothing like camping....
